NiQuitin Nicotine Clear Patch 7mg
NiQuitin CQ Clear is part of a programme designed to support your wish to stop smoking. The programme contains 3 Steps which you will need to follow, starting with Step 1, then Step 2, then Step 3. However, light smokers, (10 cigarettes a day or less) should start with Step 2.
Each Step has its own strength of NiQuitin CQ Clear patch; the patches are designed to supply your body with a replacement amount of nicotine, which decreases as you go from Step 1 to Step 3.
How to Use
If you smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day, then start with:
Step 1. NiQuitin CQ Clear 21mg for 6 weeks, then continue with
Step 2. NiQuitin CQ Clear 14mg for 2 weeks, then continue with
Step 3. NiQuitin CQ Clear 7mg for 2 weeks.
If you smoke 10 or less cigarettes a day, then start with:
Step 2. NiQuitin CQ Clear 14mg for 6 weeks, then continue with
Step 3. NiQuitin CQ Clear 7mg for 2 weeks.
To increase your chances of success, it is important you complete the step down programme in full. However, you should not use NiQuitin CQ Clear patches for more than ten consecutive weeks. If you resume smoking you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist about how to get the best results from further course of NiQuitin CQ Clear.
Hazards and Cautions
Do not use NiQuitin CQ Clear Patches if:
You are allergic to nicotine or any of the other ingredients listed above.
You are a non-smoker or an occasional smoker.
You have had a recent heart attack or stroke.*
You suffer from severe irregular heartbeat, unstable or worsening angina (chest pain) or resting angina.*
*Your doctor will advise you if these conditions apply to you.
You must talk to your doctor before using NiQuitin CQ Clear if:
You are 12 - 17 years old
You are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breast feeding.*
You have heart or circulation problems including heart failure or stable angina, or high blood pressure.
You suffer from, or have previously suffered from, dematitis or other skin disorders.
You have a stomach ulcer or an over active thyroid gland.
You are an insulin dependent diabetic.
You have been diagnosed as having a tumour of the adrenal glands (Phaeochromocytoma).
If you are taking Caffeine, Theophylline, Imipramine, Pentazocine, Phenacetin, Phenylbutazone, Tacrine, Chlomipramine, Asthma remedies or blood pressure remedies, as the reduced amount of nicotine in your body may alter the way your body responds to these drugs.
*Pregnant and breast feeding women are advised to give up smoking without the useof nicotine products, for example nicotine patches or gum.
